Education & Licenses
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current OSPI Driver Authorization
- Valid Washington state driver’s license with appropriate endorsement and evidence of insurability; DMV report reflecting five years of driving experience with no major traffic violations in a personal vehicle
- CPR/first-aid certificate within 60 days of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required
- Ability to perform required duties
- Ability to pass a physical exam, as required by the state of Washington
- Good driving record (provide a clean driving abstract for the last 5 years)
- Criminal justice fingerprint clearance
- Drug testing clearance
Abilities
- Ability to maintain effective student behavior management while safely operating the bus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sufficient strength and agility to move about in a school bus as required to provide assistance to students
Physical Requirements
- 70% sitting, 15% walking, 15% standing
- Lifting/carrying/pushing/kneeling
- Stoop/crouch/crawl
- Fine finger dexterity
- The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness
Other Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
- TB Clearance
- WA State Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release
- Pre-employment drug screening
