Policy Council representatives, center parents and staff serve on program committees. As representatives of their local centers, they have the opportunity to provide input from their center groups to the committee and in return take information from the committee back to their center groups. This system allows parents and staff from all sites to have a voice in the ongoing development and management of the program. If the center representative is unable to attend the program committee to which he or she has been assigned, it is that representative's responsibility to attempt to secure an alternate to attend. If no alternate can be found, the representative is expected to inform his or her supervisor. The supervisor is then expected to attend if this can be arranged. The standing committees feed critical information to centers and Policy Council that is used for program planning, goal setting and budget development.
